Adjust Watering Times For Cooler Weather
As the weather turns a bit cooler the turf does not need as much water as it did in July or August. The timing on automatic sprinkler systems should be adjusted to only water about half of the amount that your lawn needed in the hot part of the summer. If you water by hand the amount of time the sprinkler is in one area can also be greatly reduced. This is a great way to save water and prepare your lawn and landscape for the upcoming fall. The end of the summer is also a good time of the year to inspect your irrigation system for any problems or to identify any repairs or modifications that can by done before the end of the season. It has been shown that adjusting the timing on the sprinkler system by the month can save approximately 50% of the total water used in the summer over setting the system in April and leaving it until October. District Partners with Denver Water
Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District entered to an agreement with Denver Water that will allow the District to abandon a pumping station and increase pressure to over 800 homes. This agreement will save Bancroft over 18 million dollars over forty years in electrical charges, ongoing maintenance, and personnel costs. With modifications to the District’s water distribution system and upgrades to the Kendrick Pumping Station of Denver Water, a District pumping station that has been pumping for over thirty years will fall silent this fall. The pressure will be created from state of the art pumps and motors with backup power generation available in an emergency out of the Kendrick Pumping Station of Denver Water. This station is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This project is an excellent example of government entities working together to improve infrastructure and to save customers money.
Water Quality Information Available
If customers are interested in information regarding Denver Water’s water treatment processes, water quality, managing the water from the source to the customers tap, or any other water quality information it is available on the newly redesigned Denver Water web page www.denverwater.org. The information is found by clicking the water quality tab on the top of the home page. There is also extensive information regarding the water supply status of Denver Water as well as current construction projects and public outreach. There is also a link from the Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District web site www.bancroft-clover.com.
Never Receive a Late Charge!
Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District’s Automatic Payment Program can save the District’s customers time paying bills, save on postage, and eliminate the possibility of a late fee. There is no charge for the program! A water and sewer bill is still sent with detailed water use information and the specific date that the automatic payment will be deducted from their account. If there are any questions on the monthly billing customers may call the District office prior to the payment.
To sign up for the program cut the form from the bottom of this page and fill it out. Deliver the form to the District office between 7AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday and you can get started next month.
Reminder: the District does not take credit card or over the phone payments.
