District Capital Projects In Progress
The District’s 2009 Waterline Replacement Project which will replace over 11,000 feet of older four-inch water main with new larger water line is currently in progress. The construction contractor for the District, JBS Pipeline has three crews working simultaneously in order to complete the project in the time specified in the contract. This project is mainly done in small residential streets and can be difficult. Please slow down in “cone zones”.
The District is also rehabilitating two below ground pumping stations. The stations will receive new pumps, motors, and new electric controllers that will perform better and reduce electrical usage. There will be a SCADA system installed to monitor the stations from the office.
Thank you for your patience during these projects.
Denver Water Conservation Rebates Still Available
Denver Water’s program of providing rebates for the purchase of water saving devices is under way. The rebates are for the purchase of certain models of clothes washers, low flow and high efficiency toilets, irrigation system rain sensors, smart controllers, and rotary nozzles for irrigation systems. Rebates range from $20.00 to $150.00 depending on the item purchased.
Detailed information is available on the Denver Water web site www.denverwater.org. Please observe all eligible model numbers and time limitations. Denver Water will not provide rebates that do not meet the existing guidelines. Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District is not responsible for the rebate program. All rebate forms are sent to the Bancroft office for address verification only and forwarded to Denver Water for processing.
Reminder: No Watering between 10AM and 6PM
As the hot part of the summer finally arrives remember to avoid watering during the hottest time of day. There is no watering allowed at all between the hours of 10AM and 6PM. If you have your system run late at night or early morning it is a good idea to run the system at least once every two weeks when you can observe all zones to look for damaged or missing sprinkler heads as well as sprinkler heads that are spraying into the sidewalk or street.
Set the lawn mower to its highest setting to reduce the amount of water the turf needs in the heat.
District Crews Painting Fire Hydrants
District field crews are painting fire hydrants that have not been painted in the last few years. The District maintains a maintenance log of fire hydrant maintenance and identification numbers are installed on all hydrants. The maintenance and painting of the fire hydrants is a very important aspect of water providers. The hydrants must be visible and in good working order for West Metro Fire to utilize in an emergency. Every second counts and it could mean the difference in saving lives or property.
Please call the District office at 303-922-1113 if you see a damaged fire hydrant.
Check Homeowners Insurance Policy for Sewer Backup Coverage
Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District will assist homeowners if a sewer backup originated in the District main sewer line. Most residential sewer backups however come from the service line. The homeowner is responsible to clear the line and for home clean up. If a special rider is not purchased for homeowners insurance usually these clean up costs are not covered. The coverage is not expensive and usually can be added with a quick phone call to the agent handling the policy. It is recommended that homeowners have this coverage in case of a sewer backup emergency. Contact the District office for more information.
Homeowners can call the District when any sewer backup occurs. The District will dispatch field personnel any time 24 hours a day 7 days per week to determine if the line blockage is in the main line or a service line.
