Adjust Watering Time for September to Save Water!

September usually brings the temperatures down a little and that along with the shorter days allow for customers to adjust the time watering back to levels that were used in May. The water demand for turf in September is only about 65% of the water that is needed for turf areas in July and August. Using an example of watering 20 minutes per zone in July and August, the timer could be reset to 13 minutes for September. Customers could also reduce their watering days from three days per week to only two. For automatic sprinkler system users September is a good time to turn the automatic timer off and only water as needed. For additional water saving tips outside as well as how to save water inside the home visit the Denver Water web site www.denverwater.org. A link to the Denver Water site can also be found on the Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District web site www.bancroft-clover.com and go to the water resources page to find the link.
