Sewer Backing Up? Contact District Office!
The field crews of Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to offer assistance in a water or sewer emergency. If there is a sewer backup call the District office and the field crews will investigate into whether it is a main line back up or a service line blockage. If the main line is not flowing the District will dispatch emergency crews to clear the line. Time is of the essence in these situations and a quick call to the District could possibly limit the damage to your home and save neighbors from a back up situation!
If the field investigation demonstrates that the sewer service line is blocked it is the home or business owner’s responsibility to contact an emergency drain cleaning company directly. Before sewer line replacement is performed, it is recommended to obtain more than one opinion and price estimate.
Are You Covered For a Sewer Back Up?
Insurance coverage for sewer backups is not usually included with typical Homeowners Insurance Policies. Most insurance companies will offer a rider at a very reasonable cost to help protect homeowners from expensive home clean up and repair costs. There are usually varying amounts of coverage available. Call your Homeowner Insurance Agents to get more information.
Fire Hydrants Damaged During Snow Removal!
There have been many fire hydrants that have been damaged during the six weeks of snow and ice that the area experienced. Some fire hydrants were hit by vehicles that lost control and others were hit by snowplows or by heavy equipment moving large amounts of snow and ice. Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District field crews will be checking all fire hydrants in the District as the weather allows. If you see any fire hydrants that appear to have been hit by a vehicle or damaged in any way contact the District office. Field crews will check the hydrant and notify the West Metro Fire District that the hydrant will be out of service until repairs can be performed.
Field Crews to Begin Water Main Flushing Program
Please be aware that as the weather allows the field crews will be flushing areas of the water distribution system that do not have significant winter time water demand. Area residents may see Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District vehicles with water running down the gutter in many areas. Portions of the water distribution system do not have a very large water demand in the winter and this can lead to water quality concerns if not addressed with a yearly routine system flushing program. The areas that are of most concern are dead end water lines such as in cul-de-sac’s or other areas in which the water line cannot be connected to other lines to facilitate the circulation of water in times of the year in which there is low water usage. These areas will be flushed first and then the program extends to all fire hydrants in the District to ensure good water quality, as well as to inspect and operate the fire hydrants prior to any emergency situations.

Indoor Water Saving Ideas!
Do you know that insulating your hot water tank and hot water piping can save water?
By insulating the tank and piping it takes less time for the hot water to flow to the sink, tub, or shower and thereby will save water. To save even more water keep a bucket near the sink or bathtub to catch some of the water before the hot water appears and use the water to water plants!
