Water Rates to Increase 5.9% for 2007

The Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District Board of Directors voted to increase the water rates for water used beginning in January 2007. The increase will be reflected on the bill received in early February 2007. Most single family residential customers have a ¾-inch water meter and the water allowed at each tier is different for winter and summer. In the summer all customers are allowed more water at a lower rate.

Water charges for a ¾ -inch meter will be $2.88 (and increase of 16 cents per thousand gallons) for the first 7,000 gallons of water used in the winter (November-April) or for the first 14,000 gallons used in the summer (May-October). Charges for between 8,000 and 14,000 gallons of water used in a month for the winter or for 15,000 to 28,000 gallons per month for the summer will be $3.45 per thousand gallons (an increase of 19 cents per thousand gallons). Costs per thousand gallons continue to increase by 57 cents per thousand gallons tier three and by 58 cents per thousand gallons for tier four. Please see the reverse side for complete water rate information.

Costs for Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District operations and maintenance have increased with inflation with the largest effect on water rates being an 8.6% increase in water rates beginning on January 1, 2007, to Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District from Denver Water. Bancroft purchases all treated water from Denver Water under a Master Meter Distributors Agreement.

A single family customer that uses an average of 7,000 gallons per month in the winter and 14,000 gallons per month in the summer will see their bill increase $1.12 per month for the winter and $2.24 per month in the summer. Customers that use a large amount of water for the water meter size could see a larger increase to their bill.

Service charges for all customers including for single family residents with a ¾-inch water meter will not change which will keep Bancroft-Clover Water and Sanitation District as one of the lowest single family residential water service charges in the metro area.

Sewer Rates to Increase 5% for 2007

Charges for sewer service will increase to $10.82 per month for a single family residential customer. This is an increase of 52 cents per month or $6.24 per year. This charge for sanitary sewer service is still one of the lowest sewer service charges in the Denver Metro Area. This is a credit to the efficient operations of the office and field staff and a proactive system maintenance program.
